Wisdom, Power, and the Pursuit of Happiness

A short presentation I gave at a PechaKucha event in Kalamazoo, MI in July of 2019. It deals with the place of philosophy and religion in public education. PechaKucha is both a particular style of short presentation and a nonprofit organization that hosts presentation events.

Ultimate Concerns

A podcast focused on religious studies and their applicability to contemporary culture and politics.

From the website: “Ultimate Concerns features interviews and discussions with religion experts about their research. Insights from these discussions are applied to contemporary cultural and political questions. Topics are related to many different religions (such as Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism) and methods of study (such as literary studies, history, theology, and philosophy). Ron Mourad, professor of religious studies at Albion College, hosts the show.”

The Traveler Passing Through

A blog that takes a critical, evidence-based, agnostic approach to understanding religion, with a special focus on the history of Christianity and the Bible. Topics covered include scriptural editing, homosexuality and the Bible, and the nature of academic religious studies. The blog is authored by Caleb Ausbury, a former colleague of mine, who I am happy to call a friend.
